Perisher operates the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere, spanning 1,245 hectares across four mountain areas in Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales. The resort was formed in March 1995 through the consolidation of Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Mount Blue Cow, Guthega, and The Station, along with the Skitube alpine railway. It provides access to the most lifts and the greatest number of runs in Australia, accommodating visitors ranging from day-trippers to season pass holders.
Perisher is part of Vail Resorts Australia, which also operates Falls Creek and Hotham. The resort draws on skiing heritage dating to the early 1950s, when the first lodges were established in the valley. It positions itself as serving skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to advanced riders.
